The OIC being aware of the sufferings endured by our Palestinian brothers under siege in the Gaza Strip, in terms of the most brutal campaign of starvation, blockage and displacement, and being firmly convinced of the need for effective action to alleviate the ordeal faced by the Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip and to participate in securing their needs in terms of humanitarian necessities and relief.

At the initiative of the OIC Secretary General, and proceeding from the resolution issued by the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Islamabad, Pakistan, under Ref No. 3/34 on coordinating humanitarian and relief organizations’ action,  the General Secretariat has initiated action to stimulate, unify and streamline efforts to organize a relief programme aimed at channelling urgent humanitarian relief to our besieged brothers in the Gaza Strip.

We invite Muslims around the world to partake in the relief programme underway and to provide the OIC General Secretariat with updates on what aid you can extend, so that this may be included in a comprehensive and coordinated programme.

As for ways to forward assistance in kind, this can be coordinated with the Egyptian Red Crescent, the OIC Relief Coordinator, for the aid to be channelled to the Gaza Strip in accordance with the decision adopted by the Humanitarian Relief Organizations’ Coordination Meeting that was hosted in Cairo.
